Security of Oil Pipeline has always been a challenge for Oil companies. Cases of Oil theft occur frequently. Some times the theft is found after doing major loss to the company.

The very recent case of oil theft, happened just in the very first month of 2018. On 24 January 2018, A 150-feet tunnel dug by a gang was found  in west Delhi’s Dwarka. The tunnel was to be used to steal thousands of liters of fuel from an India Oil Company’s pipeline – from Panipat to Bijwasan.

In the year 2011 the police conducted 100’s of raids in Maharashtra. After the murder of Additional Collector Yashwant Sonawane. These raids were continued through the night. In these raids around 200 people were taken into custody so far and close to 1250 liters of oil has been seized.
Many people have lost their lives in guarding the Oil pipelines. It is not an easy task at all. It is very important that the patrolling should be done by highly trained security professionals.

Find the suspected diggings in the oil pipeline route.


Report to the Security Officer in charge immediately.
Inspection by investigation team.
Collecting information about the possible theft and reporting to the control room.
